By default, Microsoft Edge will remember your web browsing history, cookies, tracking, and other web data. This can be helpful in many cases, especially when you’re visiting your favorite websites and don’t always want to completely type the address in the address bar. Launch Edge in InPrivate Mode
To access Edge in InPrivate mode from the standard session, simply open the browser, then at the top right corner, click on the three horizontal dots. Then select the New InPrivate window. You can also quickly open InPrivate mode using the keyboard. Type Ctrl + Shift + N to open it. That should do it!
Always open in InPrivate Mode
If you want to always start Edge in InPrivate mode, open Edge, then right-click the Edge icon from the taskbar, and then in the popup, right-click Microsoft Edge and select Properties. This will open the Edge properties window. In the Shortcut tab, locate the Target text field. The Target field will have a line similar to the one below: We’re going to change the text in the Target field and append the -private option. So the new target field text will look like this. Click Ok to save the changes and exit. The next time you open Edge it will open in InPrivate mode. One thing to remember is Edge will only open in InPrivate mode when you launch it from the icon you modify from the taskbar or icon you modify from the desktop. You can also modify the Edge icon from the Start menu by going to the path below: Then modifying the icon there to include the -inprivate option. To remove the InPrivate mode, simply right-click the icon and go to properties and delete the option you added.
